Project Overview
Vehicles today are cumbersome. The western new vehicle market is claustrophobic, unaffordable, and stressful. Users are herded into purchasing "packages" or "trim levels" of vehicles that they don't even want, slipping and sliding into financial debt with a vehicle they can barely afford packed with technology that the user simply does not want. If a customer wants, for example, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado base model with a six-foot bed, four doors, analogue comfort controls, and no parking sensors, they should be able to do exactly that. They should be able to add and remove as much as they want to a truck they choose without restriction, increasing or reducing their total cost. No surprises. No impulse buys. They choose exactly what they want and get just that.
It started with these two
Modern vehicles are growing costly, complicated, overwhelming, and unrecognizable. While the preferable styling of a vehicle, such as literally the way it looks, is subjective, cars are objectively becoming too expensive and too overpacked with features that most of the population either cannot afford or simply do not need.
The user needs an interface, be it an app and/or website that dives deep into their chosen vehicle, allowing them to completely customize, budget, research, and summarize their purchase. An easy-to-navigate platform will give the buyer more power, knowledge, and freedom in their choices. Car company websites like Chevrolet and GMC have"Build your Ride" sections that should give the customer the above proposed platform. They instead guide the user through their meticulous, limited, basic and boring trim levels that force them to pick a trim and add or remove maybe two or three options, either of which always increases the price of the vehicle as it counts as "custom order."
This platform is going to revolutionize how modern cars are selected, curated, customized, summarized, budgeted, and purchased, eliminating restrictions and streamlining the western new vehicle purchase process for customers, dealerships, and even manufacturers alike.
